‘COGITO’ is a really outstanding French style restaurant located about two minutes walk from the “GRAND HYATT” in a small valley (and just off the main road). Honestly, when you enter the restaurant and see the decor you feel you are in France. It really feels like a French country hunting lodge, or something to that effect. Yellow walls, lots of dark wood, fireplace, antlers amiable clutter….and the old atrium that forms half of the restaurant.
We opted for the lunch course worth 3500Yen which comes with salad, soup, main dish and dessert as well as coffee/tea. They have variety of lunch courses ranging from 2000Yen-5000Yen.
The speciality is game, which the chef hunts himself but they other meats and fish on the menu too along with a really awesome wine list.
I opted for the deer steak which was out of this world with mash potatoes and mushrooms. The owner (lady) is very kind and friendly. There’s a super lovely and well behaved Labrador in the restaurant.
The menu is available in English, French, and Japanese. Honestly, its a total gem and a real must if you are staying at the Grand Hyatt and craving for French food without traveling far from the hotel. I can’t wait to go back to try their dinner menu.
