Making a pilgrimage to the food mecca that is TOKYO could be difficult, and too often there are simple too many well-reviewed restaurants falling short of expectations. Honestly, ‘LYLA’ is not one of them. On the contrary it is a beautiful cosy, well hidden and not easy to find hidden French Fusion restaurant located on the corner of a quiet residential street in Akasaka.
It is a friendly and wonderful French restaurant that will satisfy both artistic and taste sensibilities. The food is very good and it mixes with French traditions with a taste of ”nouvelle cuisine” with using ingredients that can be stocked that very day, and rare ingredients delivered directly from the origins, sophisticated and delicate dishes created with unusual combinations of ingredients. Surprisingly, your dishes will be the only one that cannot be reappeared.
Among the other delights here, wines and champagnes are beautifully paired with special dishes. We were SO pleasantly surprised at how delicious and affordable their lunch was (4800Yen) for a 7 course meal, (which was also easy to reserve).
So if you have only a couple meals in Tokyo and don’t want to fuss with a long list of recommended restaurants from various sources do make a trip to ‘LYLA’, you won’t regret it.
