An Afternoon Tea is all about the delicate few hours post lunch devoted to dainty bites, cups of tea and wonderful chats with great company. The Oriental lounge at Mandarin Oriental in Tokyo has a delightful Asian twist on this dining part of the day that’s truly worth the visit.
Conspiracy Theory: The Christmas holiday season was actually created by people who wanted an excuse to drink more champagne (like us) 😉
Celebrating the start of the holidays with a festive afternoon tea and bubbly! What made it more special was the lovely lady (Blogger) I was catching up with for the first time who I met through Instagram. Cheers to the season!
The afternoon tea at Oriental Lounge is served over a leisurely two hours with an incredible view from the chic and shiny 38th floor lounge with full-length windows. The decor is modern asion chic. I always make it a point to make time for High Tea during the Christmas season since they have Legendary Aternoon Tea menu for Christmas.
Honestly, how much more gorgeous can this set up be??
Overall, High Tea at the Mandarin Oriental is definitely a special experience and I highly recommend it for a special occasion especially during festive season.
The best part is the teas and scones are all you can eat/drink. So if you are hungry, get more and Eat the scones while they are warm. Do not be deceived by the simple looking homemade scones with clotted cream. When paired with Strawberry jam and lemon curd, you will gladly chomp on all four pieces immediately.
The High Tea is around 5500 yen per person and the pastries, desserts and teas are all exquisite! There is an extensive variety of beverages to choose from to compliment the taste like Darjeeling Tea, Lavender, Rose hip, White Sangria, Exotic Orc1hard, Mandarin Oriental Blend tea etc. I definitely felt like Royalty while enjoying my afternoon tea at the beautiful Mandarin Oriental!
