Code Name Mixology, Akasaka has everything you’re looking for in a grown-up bar: elegant decor, flatteringly dim lights, and expertly crafted cocktails, and surprisingly great collection of whiskey.
The smoky chocolate martini is their specialty you must try. Mixology bartenders use this special tool to smoke the drinks and food that they serve. The famous smoky chocolate martini gets served in a clear plastic bag with a clip, and smoke comes out when you take off the clip, which is part of the presentation – well put together. What comes next is the enjoyable smell and taste of the smoke you will have from the martini! You just need to try to understand what I mean, and I promise you would not be able to get this anywhere else.
This mixology bar has lots of unique drinks like non-liquid mojito.Champagne and mojito (look at the picture!) gets served separately, and you mix them together in your mouth to taste mojito drink.
The bartenders are really passionate and particular about how they serve those drinks. One of them even won world championships for mixing cocktails, so be ready and expect authentic drinks. There are 3 different locations for this Mixology bars,( Ginza, Akasaka, Roppongi) and the one in Akasaka is my favorite. This one at Akasaka looks like a secret bar and also a science lab because of the unique looking tools that they use in order to make special cocktails. The Akasaka one has a retro-touch to it and couches are so comfortable. Perfect date night spot!
Overall, It’s a great bar for nice drinks post dinner if you are in the neighborhood. Keep in mind that they also serve great food though although I haven’t yet personally tried.
